New Job - Games Writer

by swillw @ 2005-12-11 - 19:14:15

After a telephone interview and a face to face interview with www.hexus.net I was delighted to hear the news that I will be working full time for Hexus in their gaming section.

It's really weird because it's a job that I have wanted for many years and finally the hard work has paid off.

I will be writing Games reviews, previews and gaming articles, as well as gaming news posts and event coverage.

I'm also working from home! Woohoo!

I started December 2nd and hopefully I can make an impact on the website.

White Christmas! Black Christmas! Who cares?

by swillw @ 2005-11-28 - 16:41:41

The yearly debate around the West Midlands has began. Should the words 'White christmas' be changed.

There is a section of the community who feel it has racist undertones.

My God, even recently there was talks about nursery rhymes being changed in schools. No more Baa Baa Black Sheep!

It really does get taken totally out of proportion.

Isn't it called 'White Christmas' because the snow is white?

I think the problems with racists and racism in general is that there are far more serious issues that should be dealt with, rather than changing a name that has been about for 100's of years.

Pah!

My snowman has a black hat on, does that count?

George Best R.I.P

by swillw @ 2005-11-28 - 16:34:13

God Bless you George Best!

I know he isn't exactly a great advocate for young footballers but perhaps his life will serve as a lesson to those young footballers.

His personal life doesn't matter anymore and he was one of the World's greatest footballers. He deserves all the accolades.

R.I.P Best!

Busy Busy Busy

by swillw @ 2005-11-28 - 16:30:53

I've been so busy that I've neglected my blog.

I'll be keeping back up to date from now on.

I'm concentrating on getting a job within the games industry and I'm now on my 3rd interview to a Games guru. That is - to play games all day and review them.

Fingers crossed I should find out by the end of the week

Princess Day!

by swillw @ 2005-09-30 - 18:30:58

Well the idea came from SuperNanny(or a program like that) and it involves making the day extra special for your loved one.

We've been having Prince and Princess days for a few months or so. Maybe once every two weeks.

It is supposed to be for kids but you're never too old.

Last Saturday was Princess day, which meant. I wake up before Chante and bring her a crown and a cup of coffee in bed. I then cook a full english breakfast and we eat it in bed.

She is then free to do anything she wants all day. I will fetch her drinks, make her favourite tea(I made cheese and potato pie), she can have foot massages or head massages whenevr she wants. I do all the housework.
Also on Princess day she chooses which film she would like to watch at the cinema. We went to see Pride and Prejudice. And finally she can choose what she wants to do in the evening, whether it be just watching her favourite video or going out for a meal.

I have Prince day to! Everyone should have one, I really look forward to it!
