Out Last Night! What Would You Put Into Room 101?

by swillw @ 2005-04-28 - 15:31:50

Last night I went out for a few drinks with my close friend Michael Evans (Evo).

As always we had some interesting discussions, in between Evo being distracted by the occassional passing white bra. He has a 'thing' about white bras. At one point a lady walked pased wearing a white bra and carrying a tray of lager. Evo couldn't have been happier, his two favourite things in life rolled into one. He would have married her on the spot if he could've.

Oh yes sorry,I meant to tell you about the interesting discussion. We talked about the TV Show Room 101 and the things that irrritate us in the world. What would we put in Room 101?

Evo's List

1) Black Bras (he loves white bras only)
2) Women At Cashpoints
3) Women who wear coats indoors
4) People who don't pass over the shopping divider at the supermarket
5) Women with boyfriends (he's single)

My List

1) People with no manners (manners cost nothing)
2) Teenagers with Moustaches (why, you have all of your life to grow a moustache. do it when you are 40 like normal men, you just look dirty and common)
3) Over the Top Sex Noises (my next door neighbour wails like a banshee! There is no need for it.It sounds like an act and unless he is doing something I don't know about I don't swallow it(pardon the pun) for one second. Ooohh Ahhh Ooohhh Ahhhh. Give it a rest woman. There is nothing wrong with a bit of noise of course, but there is no way he couild be doing anything to make you make those noises. Could he?)
4) Tramps who have houses (There is a tramp in my town who looks like a tramp. However he has a nice little flat so he must get benefits. If you are going to behave like a tramp and beg then I expect you to live like a tramp as well.)

Inidently I think they should have Tramp of the Year awards where you vote for your favourite tramp in your town. The winning tramp could get a house, or a new warm coat perhaps. Or International Tramp Of The Year Awards would be good. I think it's a ratings winner. Anything that helps people out of poverty can only be good.

There are many things I'd like to put into Room 101 but I'll save them for another time.

A Woman At A Cashpoint - one of life's little annoyances.

Halo 2 Event Secured

by swillw @ 2005-04-28 - 15:16:22

Wooohoo!

We have just secured the running of a Halo 2 Event due to start on Saturday.

The event runs over 12 weeks and involves 20 IGUK centres from across the UK. This is a great scoop for The Last Man Standing Tournaments and I'm very excited at the prospect!

Prince Charles As King? Get rid of the lot of them!

by swillw @ 2005-04-27 - 11:29:48

There has been furious debate regarding Prince Charles being fit to be the next King. I am totally with the Mohammed Al Fayed school of thought on the whole Royal Family. Why do we persist to live in the past and continue to pay for these people. they do a bit of charity work-great! So does Bob the bloke who lives at the bottom of my road. So do a lot of people.

The Royalists who wait for hours with their flags and stupid plastic hats to watch a wedding or anything royal related just to get a glimpse of these leeches, as if they are their heroes amazes me.

I remember waiting in our local street whwn I was a child to see Prince Charles and Princess Di drive past. We waited for four hours and I remember the intense excitement that everyone felt. Why?

Scrap the lot of them and put the money into education and other worth while causes. Will this farce ever end?

This picture just about sums up all of them

Prisoners To Get The Vote!

by swillw @ 2005-04-27 - 11:16:36

There has been debate on a number of radio stations over the last few days on prisoners having the right to vote. According to reports today some prisoners will be voting in the May elections.

I feel that prisoners should be able to vote. They have human rights and they should have a voice despite their crimes. I can understand the reasoning behind the argument that some of the 'evil' prison population do not deserve any human rights. The likes of Myra Hindley a prime example.

Well I''m postal voting this year for the first time. I am split between spoiling my ballot paper or voting liberal democrats. The same people run whichever government gets elected so I'm not sure why I vote at all. Perhaps I feel that one day things may change or perhaps I just get sucked in with the rest of the brain-washed herds.

The conservative campaign makes my blood boil. Their slogan 'Are you thinking what I'm thinking?' really irrates me. Quite frankly Mr Howard I am not thinking what you are thinking. I am thinking 'why don't you take down these stupid posters' and concentrate on some real issues. The latest one that I seen this morning has a picture of Tony Blair with the words 'Another 5 years of this man' Are you thinking what we are thinking? Childish games and a waste of money.

They spend more time attacking each other. It really is pathetic.

Bye Bye Corsa!

by swillw @ 2005-04-26 - 13:52:25

My Vauxhall Corsa is going up for sale (well technically it is my finance's car but she can't drive). It's served us well. It's seen good times and bad but mainly bad, including long journeys to Nottingham(which incidently I couldn't find and turned back), 6 hour trips to London (got lost again) and a agonising trip to Wales when I was suppose to be heading back from Stratford Upon Avon to Birmingham( I got on the wrong motorway). For some reason I have no sense of direction.

All in all she is a reliable car, cheap and always guaranteed to get you there in the end.

Reading At The Moment

by swillw @ 2005-04-25 - 11:29:37

Last night I finished a superb book called 'The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time'.

Curious Incident

The book was the the WhitBread Book Of the Year for 2005 and is written by Mark Haddon who has Asperger's Syndrome. It is a truly great book which fills you full of hope. At times you laugh out loud and at others there is a tear in your eye.

I would recommend this book to everyone

Reviews of the book can be seen here:

I'll do anything to win a prize!

by swillw @ 2005-04-24 - 22:16:47

As a persistant competition entrant I decided that I would enter a competition to win Scrapland on the PC. The competition was run by Xequted.com where I now masquerade as Promotions Manager.

The idea was to dress up as a Robot! The prize was a superb bust(moulded head) from the game.

I didn't win but thought I would share my entry with others!

For those who are interested in imitating such a fine Robot costume I can provide a list of all the props that I used if you email me.
